This policy applies to the DDM Games website. Analytics only activates with your explicit consent and the necessary technical configuration.
1. Preference storage
Provider: DDM Games (first party). ddm-theme stores your theme, ddm-locale your language, and ddm-cookie-consent-v1 your analytics choice in localStorage. These are not cookies and have no automatic expiry; they remain until browser data is cleared. You can change your consent using the footer.
2. Analytics cookies
Provider: Google Analytics 4 / Google. The first-party _ga and _ga_<measurement identifier> cookies may distinguish visitors and sessions. This integration sets cookie expiry to 1 year; consented visits may renew it. Verify actual cookies and expiry in production. Analytics event retention is configured separately in GA administration and must be confirmed before launch.
Analytics is off by default. Without consent, the Google Analytics script is not loaded and no analytics measurement requests are sent. Advertising and personalization permissions remain denied.
3. Changing your preferences
Use Cookie Preferences in the footer to enable or disable analytics. Withdrawal stops new measurements, clears accessible _ga cookies, and reloads the page to unload Google code. You can also clear site data in your browser. Data previously sent to Google is not automatically deleted.

Any essential cookies used by hosting and security providers, including their expiry, must be verified against the live infrastructure and added here. See the Privacy Policy for details about personal data processing.
PHP version: preference and session storage
Technical update for the PHP version: The language preference is now stored in the ddm-locale cookie for 1 year, with HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax (Secure over HTTPS). The language localStorage behavior described above applies to the previous version. Theme and analytics consent continue to use localStorage. ddm-session is an HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax session cookie used for form security and lasts for the browser session.
